Collaboration of Creativity

Two Masters:

David C. Driskell (Master Artist) and Curlee Raven Holton (Master Printmaker)

This exhibit featured a wide range of prints by distinguished artist David C. Driskell and master printer Curlee Raven Holton. The exhibition included over 40 prints created by both Driskell and Holton and emphasized the story of their creative relationship. While each of these artists is celebrated for their own achievements, the ongoing collaboration between an African American artist and an African American master printer is rare. The exhibition invited the viewer to witness the mastery involved in their processes as well as how they, together and individually, helped drive the inclusion of African American artists into American art history books.
